For some, saving money is no easy feat. There will be ups and downs, cravings and big red SALE signs on malls all throughout the year that can topple their resolve. But as we have always believed here in Brighter Life, saving for a brighter future is possible for everyone.
And so the Go 120 Money Challenge was born, Brighter Life’s saving race to a Php120,000 by the end of the year. Starting today, we follow the journey of three individuals as they take on this challenge and achieve their financial goals. Let’s meet them, shall we?
Meet Nina. She is a 35-year-old working mom who contributes to monthly household expenses such as groceries, utility bills, and her son’s pre-school tuition fee. Her penchant for shopping and eating out are among the challenges that may be keeping her from reaching her financial goals. She has a small amount of savings and recently started investing, while intending to take on sideline jobs so she can save and invest more (and maybe shop once in a while).

I am Paul, turning 30, single, and youngest of four siblings. I do not have many responsibilities except for myself. I see to it that I workout at least 4 to 5 times a week, go out with my friends at least once a week, and make sure that I move my car every four hours to avoid paying the P50 hourly in excess (parking is gold where I work).
Saving? Not much practical experience there though I’m an expert in theory. For me, life is all about fun and spontaneity. Long-term planning is never an option.
I am that youngest child who grew up to be everyone’s favorite (claiming it). Follow me as I put the P in the YOLO (y’know, PLAN, You Only Live Once) and see if I will survive this challenge to save Php120,000 before the next New Year’s Eve party (which I’m definitely attending).

Tiffany is a 27-year old digital marketer by day and dreamer by night, but a proud follower of Jesus all throughout. She loves discovering her unique calling in the Lord and walking with other believers. She loves to read, watch Korean series, and learn new things. Her other interests and passions include: travel and adventures, shopping, dining at newly opened restaurants with family or friends, and drinking (and smelling the aroma of) coffee. Though she is NOT in debt and have an emergency fund (hallelujah!), her savings always morph into a travel fund or a shopping spree.
